IMPORTANT NOTES
Our International College Fair brought together Year 10 to Year 13 students and their families with more than 100 universities and institutionsfrom Mexico and around the world. Throughout the event, students explored different study programmes, learnt about university life in various countries and made valuable connections with university representatives. With the guidance of our College Counsellor, Leo Díaz, they also gained a clearer understanding of admission requirements and the steps they can take now to prepare for their future. It was a fantastic opportunity to discover global possibilities and begin planning the journey beyond Greengates.
Monster Phonics Parade filled the school with colour, costumes and creativity as Nursery to Year 2 students brought their favourite characters to life! Through colourful monsters and memorable sound cues, the Monster Phonics programme helps children recognise letter-sound relationships and develop confidence in reading, spelling and writing. The parade was a wonderful celebration of early literacy and reflected how playful, engaging experiences can make learning both meaningful and fun.
As part of our 75th anniversary celebrations, we were honoured to welcome alumni from the 1977 to 1985 generations back to Greengates for a special reunion. Accompanied by our Year 12 Peer Mentors, they toured the campus, reconnected with the school community and shared memories of their time here. Their visit was a wonderful reminder of the strong sense of community and belonging that continues to connect generations of Greengates students.
Secondary students took part in a series of workshops led by two experts from .jes, exploring social impact and the role of advocacy in creating positive change. Guided by the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, students formed teams to develop their own mini advocacy projects and turn their ideas into practical proposals. Through this experience, they strengthened their ability to plan and develop projects, collaborate effectively and consider different perspectives, while building a deeper sense of social responsibility and understanding how they can contribute to their communities.

This week, our Year 12 students presented their CAS projects and portfolios, showcasing the creativity, commitment and impact of their work over the past two years. Among the projects was Make Greengates Actually Green, developed by Josemaría, Patricio and Nicolás. Over the summer, they will begin installing solar panels on two school buildings as the first phase of the project. Congratulations on this outstanding achievement!

NORD ANGLIA GLOBAL EXPERIENCES
Performing Arts Festival 2027
Final days to register! Students in Years 7–10 are invited to take part in the Nord Anglia Performing Arts Festival 2027, from 5th to 9th March in Orlando, Florida.
Bringing together students from Nord Anglia schools across the Americas, the festival offers workshops and performances across Dance, Musical Theatre, Theatre, Voice, Piano, Drumline, Instrumental Music and Technical Theatre.
Registration closes on Monday, 12th October. Don’t miss this opportunity to develop your skills, perform, collaborate and connect with students from across the region.

STEAM Festival 2027
Final days to register! Students in Years 9 and 10 are invited to take part in the Nord Anglia STEAM Festival 2027, from 5th to 9th March in Orlando, Florida.
Across all four Walt Disney World parks, students will take part in workshops at Disney Imagination Campus, exploring STEAM through real-world experiences, from the physics behind Disney rides to the role of music in storytelling.
Registration closes on Monday, 12th October. Don’t miss this opportunity to think like a Disney Imagineer, combining creativity, innovation and problem-solving.

Junior Games 2027
A final reminder that registration for Junior Games 2027 in Orlando, Florida, has been extended until Monday, 16th November.
If your child is interested in participating and you have not yet registered, this is your final opportunity to secure their place. No further extensions will be available, and all payment, cancellation and refund policies remain unchanged.

PERFORMING ARTS
Our school is rebuilding both the School Orchestra and the Community Choir, and I would like to invite all students from Year 6 to Year 13 to take part.
The Community Choir rehearses every Wednesday from 3:15 pm to 4:15 pm. Students of all ages and singing abilities are welcome to join. Many teachers also participate, making it a wonderful opportunity to share the joy of music across different year groups. No previous singing experience is required.
The School Orchestra rehearses every Tuesday from 3:15 pm to 4:15 pm. We welcome students from Year 6 to Year 13 who play an orchestral instrument. At the moment, we are particularly looking for string players (violin, viola, and cello) and woodwind and brass players.
These ensembles provide an excellent opportunity for students to develop their musical skills, build confidence, and enjoy making music with others.

Creating Music Together
As part of their Songwriting and Popular Music unit, Year 9 students have been developing their composition and performance skills through a creative musical challenge. Working in groups of three, students had just 15 minutes to compose and perform an original 8-bar piece using a pentatonic scale.
Each composition incorporated melodic ideas, an ostinato pattern and chords, with every student responsible for one of three independent musical layers. The challenge encouraged students to listen closely to one another, collaborate and think creatively to produce a balanced and cohesive performance, demonstrating how musical skills, teamwork and creativity come together in the classroom.
